Alpe Devero is located in the far north of Piedmont in the province
of Verbania-Cusio Ossola. It reaches from the south by a municipal
road that starts from Baceno and ends just outside the village.
In Alpe Devero cars cannot circulate.
Alpe Devero is surrounded in the north by the Switzerland, on
the eastern side from the Veglia Alps and on the western side
from Formazza-Valley.
By car
Alpe Devero can be reached from the south along the
motorway A26 Voltri-Gravellona Toce up to Gravellona. Then
you continue following the new route of the Simplon road
36, passing Domodossola, up to the exit of Crodo. You leave
the state road, proceding toward Baceno / Formazza Valley,
and once arrived in the center of Baceno you take the communal
road (7 km) that rises to Devero. The access to Alpe Devero
is prohibited to private cars which have to be left in the
parking below.
From the Switzerland, Alpe Devero can be reached from Domodossola
through the Simplon Pass or from the Canton Ticino through
the Centovalli Road. Alpe Devero is located 150 km from Milan,
250 km from Genoa, 200 km from Turin, 75 km from Brig and
280 km from Geneva (CH).
By train
You can get Val d'Ossola easily by train to the International
Railway in Domodossola.
On the Milan-Geneva, Domodossola is served by Eurostar and
Intercity, leaving every hour from the main station Milano
Centrale and the several Swiss Train stations.
